Hamilton Hill Memorial Hall

Hamilton Hill Memorial Hall

Originally constructed in 1925, the Hamilton Hill Memorial Hall was maintained by returned servicemen from the First World War and functioned as a picture theatre every Friday, with dances held on Saturday nights.

Unfortunately, as the years wore on, the caretakers were reluctantly forced to hand the building to the Council as the maintenance became impossible for them to afford. The Council completely upgraded the building in 2008 with the renovations opening in 2009.

The theatre now comfortably seats 120 patrons in raised seating, and it boasts both kitchen and bar facilities in the foyer as well as a sizeable stage and backstage facilities. The almost 20 foot high ceiling in the main hall keeps the area wonderfully cool and adds a "cathedral"quality to the acoustics.
