If youre backpacking round Australia youre sure to land in Perth. This beautiful city is full of things to do and some even say it has the best shopping in the country.
Perth is the capital of Western Australia and is home to the majority of Western Australias population. A Perth hostel is not hard to find -- in fact, many can be seen from the major busport/ train station. Perth has a few big street malls which are fun to visit. Internet access, grocery stores, and ATMs are all easily accessible here as well. Conveniently, there is a free city bus route that can get you at least close to wherever you might want to be in the city.

Perth hostels are a good place to stay to check out the healthy music scene based in the city. One sight in Perth that you should not miss is Kings Park. It is the largest park in a metropolitan area in Australia and is filled with unique bridges and lots of regional flora and fauna. Concerts are sometimes held in Kings Park.
When you come to the end of your Perth hostel stay we recommend checking out the areas south of the city, such as Esperance, and Margaret River, or north of the city like Geraldton, Monkey Mia, or Exmouth. If you are coming into Western Australia by plane, you will have to stop through Perth to get to these areas. Perth has excellent train and bus transport that can take you just about anywhere in WA.
