Since 26 January, 1788, Indigenous people have endured oppression and dispossession on a wide scale.

What's On
Sydney
A lot of the action is set to occur around the harbour: The annual ferrython, harbour parade, tall ships race and Australia Day Regatta are all set to take place from mid-morning until well into the afternoon. A protest will be held at Belmore Park from 9.30am. A salute and jet flyover, along with a Navy helicopter flag display, will occur around lunchtime. Then, in the evening, there'll be performances and fireworks.
Melbourne
There'll be an official flag-raising ceremony around 9.15am. An Invasion Day rally will start at Parliament House around 10am. At midday, there'll be a 21-gun salute at the Shrine of Remembrance, and from 1pm there'll be live performances at Federation Square.
Canberra
There'll be a flag-raising ceremony near Lake Burley Griffin from 9am. Prime Minister and Governor-General are expected to address the crowd within the hour. Around 10.30am, there'll be an Australian of the Year morning tea at The Lodge, followed by the official awards announcement at the National Arboretum. On the protest front, there'll be a rally at Garema Place around 9am.
Brisbane
The Invasion Day protest is scheduled to kick off at 10am AEST at Queens Gardens. At 2pm, there'll be food and performances at South Bank.
Perth
The local Invasion Day rally is slated for 12pm AWST at Forrest Chase in the CBD. From 3pm, there'll be a lights show at Langley Park, followed by evening fireworks and a drone display over the Swan River.
